What Happens After We Send a DMCA Notice?

1 min read

Once we detect your leaked content and send a DMCA notice, here's what happens next.

Step 1: Notice Sent

We send DMCA notices to multiple parties simultaneously:

  • The website hosting your content
  • Their web hosting provider
  • Search engines (Google, Bing, etc.)

Step 2: Processing

Each recipient reviews the DMCA notice. Processing times vary by platform—some respond within hours, others may take several days. During this time, the status will show as "Pending" in your dashboard.

Step 3: Content Removed or Delisted

Once the recipient complies, you'll see one of these outcomes:

  • Removed — Content deleted from the website
  • Delisted — Removed from search engine results

Step 4: We Keep Monitoring

Even after removal, we continue monitoring. If the content reappears on the same site or pops up elsewhere, we'll detect it in your next scan and send new takedown notices automatically.

Track Your Progress

You can track all your takedown requests in your dashboard under Results. Each request shows its current status so you always know where things stand.
